Summer holiday in Lesachtal
Excursions in and around the Lesachtal valley
The Lesachtal is a living open-air museum of Carinthian history – here, historical events, traditional mills, and untouched nature tell of a life that for centuries was shaped by farmers, craftsmen, and the power of water.

Maria Luggau
Maria Luggau is considered one of Austria's most famous pilgrimage sites. The origins of the pilgrimage date back to 1513, when the peasant woman Helena was instructed by the Mother of God in a dream to build a church. Since then, thousands of pilgrims have made their way to the Basilica of Our Lady of Sorrows every year. Also located there is the Mill Path, with five old, well-preserved watermills where Lesachtal grain is ground for the original Lesachtal bread.
Violin-Making Museum in Liesing
Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of violin making and discover the unique instruments of master luthier Johann Lexer, crafted with passion, precision, and local wood. Experience a piece of regional cultural history in an authentic atmosphere, and the art of creating sonorous masterpieces from wood. A visit that touches you – and resonates long after.

Riding with Babsi
Experience unforgettable moments at Babsis Horse World. Surrounded by pristine nature, you can expect lovingly guided riding experiences for young and old – from first encounters with horses to relaxed rides through forests and across sunny alpine meadows. Here, humans, animals, and nature are in harmony – for genuine feelings of happiness in the saddle.
Sunrise on the Golzentipp
A magical sunrise tour in Obertilliach usually leads up to the Golzentipp (2,090m), the village's local mountain, which offers spectacular panoramic views of the Lienz Dolomites and the Carnic Alps. During the summer months (July to September, usually Fridays from 4:30 am), the Obertilliach cable cars offer special adventure trips that make the ascent easier.
